Bipartisanship (GB)

Bipartisanship (GB) is a five year old mare by Bated Breath out of the Oasis Dream mare Dream Wild. Acquired by As One Racing as its first purchase at the 2023 Keeneland January Horses of All Ages sale, Bipartisanship (GB) was already an established runner. After starting her career in Ireland and competing at the graded stakes level, she came to the United States as a three year old and has been under the watchful eye of trainer Graham Motion ever since. She is already the winner of two stakes — the Tropical Parks Oaks (Listed) and Kathryn Crosby Stakes (Listed) – and looks to do more in 2023. Other partners in the ownership of Bipartisanship include Commonwealth, Edgar Harty, Charles Fenwick, and Tom Kelso.

Last Race

Coming off a strong third in a competitive allowance race at Keeneland in April, Bipartisanship stepped up to compete on the national stage in the Grade III Gallorette Stakes at Pimlico Race Course on Preakness Day. Graded Stakes represent some of the highest level in competition in the racing world and racing on Preakness Day put Bipartisanship and the As One Silks on national television through NBC Sports coverage of the races. Bipartisanship faced a tough group of six other fillies and mares in the Gallorrette and ran another great race. Trained by Graham Motion and piloted by Hall of Fame jockey John Velazquez, Bipartisanship closed strongly down the stretch to finish third, just missing second by a neck.

Next Race

Bipartisanship came out of her effort in the Gallorette Stakes (GIII) well. Both trainer Graham Motion and jockey John Velazquez were pleased with her effort, with Velazquez commenting: “We sat there and waited to the quarter pole to squeeze between horses, and then she came running nicely. Seems like the longer distance will suit her good.” Bipartisanship remains in training with Motion and will start looking for her next race soon.
