Bipartisanship (GB)

Bipartisanship (GB) is a six year old mare by Bated Breath out of the Oasis Dream mare Dream Wild. Acquired by As One Racing as its first purchase at the 2023 Keeneland January Horses of All Ages sale, Bipartisanship (GB) was already an established runner. After starting her career in Ireland and competing at the graded stakes level, she came to the United States as a three year old and was under the watchful eye of trainer Graham Motion for her racing career in the U.S. As the As One standard bearer, she won a stakes race — the PTHA President’s Cup Stakes (Listed) – and competed in Graded Stakes on Preakness and Haskell Day for our young partnership. After bringing us many thrills, Bipartisanship has now retired and has moved to John Muir’s Milburn Creek in New South Wales, Australia where she will begin her breeding career.

Last Race

Bipartisanship returned to Kentucky for the Ellis Park Turf Stakes on August 27. Run as the featured race on the closing weekend of the meet, the Ellis Park Turf Stakes included a talented group of nine fillies and mares. Piloted by jockey Chris Landeros, Bipartisanship settled in to the back of the pack down the backstretch before making a big run coming into the final turn. She closed on the leaders down the stretch, but came up just short to finish third with another solid effort.

Future Plans

After a summer campaign where she finished in the money in four of her five races, with the only exception a strong fourth in the Grade III Matchmaker Stakes on Haskell Day, Bipartisanship (GB) increased her value as a mare that could either continue to race or begin her breeding career as a commercial broodmare. As a result, As One entered her in the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale, where she is catalogued as Hip No. 585. While it was difficult to part with this special horse, from a business point of view it was the right time given her strong pedigree and racing in 2023.

She was a popular mare in the barns, attracting potential buyers from all over the world. In the end, she sold to John Muir’s Milburn Creek in New South Wales, Australia where she will begin her breeding career.

Bipartisanship brought us many thrills in our inaugural year. While the As One partners were sad to bid farewell, they were pleased to see her go to wonderful new owners who are known for taking great care of their horses. It will be tough to not be able to visit her on the other side of the world, but a scan of the Milburn Creek website reveals that Bipartisanship is going to a beautiful place.
