Bolivie (IRE)

Bolivie (IRE) is a three-year-old filly by Exceed and Excel (AUS) out of Burma Sun (IRE) by Rip Van Winkle (IRE). She began her career racing in France as a two-year-old with a win at Deauville. She had two second place finishes in France to start her three-year-old year, including a stakes race at Cagnes-sur-mer. She joined the As One stable in March 2023 and looks to grow on her success in the U.S. Bolivie is trained under the watchful eye of 2023 Kentucky Oaks winning trainer Brendan Walsh. Other partners in the ownership of Bolivie include Haras d’Etreham, Silver Fox Racing, John Britt, and others.

Last Race

Following her dramatic stakes victory in the Searching Stakes in August, Bolivie returned to the races on September 15 in the Winter Memories Stakes as part of the Belmont meet held at Aqueduct. Jose Lezcano rode our filly in the 1 mile turf race for three year olds, but unfortunately it wasn’t the best of days. Bolivie was never engaged with the main pack and finished ninth. Sometimes you hear horsemen say a race was one “to draw a line through,” meaning it just wasn’t your day so try to put it in the past and move to the next race. It was one of those days for Bolivie.

Next Race

Bolivie came out of her race at Aqueduct in good order and will return to training under the watchful eye of trainer Brendan Walsh. The team is charting out her Fall plans and will look to get Bolivie back to her winning ways.
